By_Tor2114 Posted April 19, 2011 Posted April 19, 2011 Hi guys, I was put on to Basschat by Graham at GAK. I'd previously never heard of the place, but I certainly wish I had come across it sooner! It would have made my life a whole lot easier when I've been trying to source bits of gear! I've been playing for 13 years now. Played all kinds of styles and genres, but can never tear myself away from the fact that Rush is still the greatest band in history! The early years of my playing came from learning to play (Badly) every Rush song I could get my hands on. I've been through the many stages of Geddy by owning Jazz basses, two Wals (One of which I massively regret selling) as well as a 1978 Rickenbacker 4001 (Currently for sale in the market section). My current longest standing bass is my trusty Billy Sheehan signature model which I've had for nearly six years. It's been used on a million and one gigs and has never let me down. Beyond bass, I've also taken to learning guitar and drums to a pretty high standard, which has allowed me to write and record my very own material (No one else would play with me!). I've been taking a break from playing for a while, but I've recently been getting back into, hence buying a new rig and being put in the direction of Basschat to sell me old rig. P.S I'm having a major dilemma as to whether or not I should sell my Ricky... I'll take it out on the gig this Friday and see how I feel! Ben Quote

By_Tor2114 Posted April 19, 2011 Author Posted April 19, 2011 One day that Wal will return to me, Gary! Just got to save up enough of a bribe for you Quote
By_Tor2114 Posted April 19, 2011 Author Posted April 19, 2011 Hi! How many Bournemouth boys do we have on here? Quote
BottomE Posted April 19, 2011 Posted April 19, 2011 I'm another Bournemouth guy and would love to come see you guys play. Pls let me know when you are gigging next. Jerry Quote
By_Tor2114 Posted April 19, 2011 Author Posted April 19, 2011 Hi Jerry, Not gigging much at the moment, as I am just coming off a break from playing. Filling in with my old band this week, then will get something more permanent in the pipeline. Ben Quote
Bankai Posted April 19, 2011 Posted April 19, 2011 I need a bassist in my band as I'm being drafted to drums instead. Quote
By_Tor2114 Posted April 20, 2011 Author Posted April 20, 2011 What kind of stuff is it, Bankai? Quote
Bankai Posted April 20, 2011 Posted April 20, 2011 I've just made a post in the bassists wanted section. Have a look there for more info. Quote
graham1945 Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 Hi from another Bournemouth bass player. I've already placed an introduction on another "hi from Dorset stream". Good here innit? Graham (Souled Out South). Quote

I got a wedding gig at Compton Acres and hope to finish early so would be looking to go and see some real music after the gig to regain my sanity? Welcome to Basschat (again?) Quote
