Hi - I'm putting my Fernandes Retrospect 5 up for grabs, as I don't really need a five string & it's not being played. I can't find much about these online, but it's a quality passive Chinese-made take on a Jazz Bass. The neck is really compact at the nut (it's about Precision width) & string spacing at the bridge is 17-18mm. I've found it easy to pick up after playing my four strings & if I didn't have somethiing coming in soon then I'd be keeping it.

I think the body is alder (quite light) & it's a decent sunburst finish - there are a couple of dings, but nothing major & overall it's in very good shape. It's currently strung with La Bella flats (worth over £30 on their own), but I have the rounds it came with & I'll throw them in too. [s]Don't have a case/bag for it so can't do a postal deal at the mo[/s]. Managed to pack this for sending so I'm asking £175 posted, but would be interested in a cashdeal with collection from Newcastle upon Tyne.

Been trying to find some more info on these, but there's not much in terms of reviews out there. They were discontinued a while ago, but it looks like Fernandes have brought them back: -

Will be open to offers for a cash sale...

Hi Ben,

That's a nice looking bass and the price is fine.

However you appear to have a problem with a sloping floor in your house - do you know if there is a history of mining in the area?

Hi Howard - it's an interesting take on a Jazz copy with that scratchplate. Subtly different...

I think mining's probably one of the nicer things there's been a history of round here to be honest!

After battling with a mountain of bubble wrap & cardboard I'm able to post this now - original description amended.
