Any cheapish headphones I can buy for practicing? Loud Practicing won't be a popular thing with my flat mates.
Something like this maybe? http://www.thomann.de/gb/the_tbone_hd880.htm

Thanks, Olie

Ollie,

I like you use 'phones most of time for practise ( I wont bore with the why) and I spose it comes down to svearal questions that you ahve to ask yourself about what you want..

1. How much are you willing to spend?

2. what type do you prefer? Over ear/ on ear / or in ear?

3. how long are you going to be wearing them?

Once you set out your criteria you can look for suitable sets......

I have a set of Bose Tri port in ears which were £65 ish and are superb....... They would be my recommendation!

PS happy birthday!

For no critical work (e.g. practising rather than mixing), I'd go for the cheap Sennheisers (201 etc).

They're comfy, sound fine and solid. I've got 3 pairs we use for tracking and they look like they'll last longer than the cheap AKG (K55) we have.

Cheers
John

Thanks for recommendations. It really is just for practising so my main priority is comfort, even above sound quality. As long as it doesn't sound horrible I'll be fine.

Don't want to spend more than £30, preferably less.

I'll be playing it through my Warwick Head which has a great pre-amp.

Thanks for the Happy Birthday btw :) .

These look quite good, http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sennheiser-HD215-C...6724&sr=1-4.

I quite like the idea of 1 ear listening if I'm listening out for something.

P.s I will also probably be using these for regular music listening.

I use Audio Technica ATH-M30s, they're £40 from sound control, and I love them! A good proper tough-built studio headphone at a way bargainous price, I think Roland do the exact same phones with a different badge for £70+.

Maybe a wee bit outwith your budget range, but definitely worth it in terms of improved quality and lifespan.
