EMINENCE OR CELESTION SPEAKERS

hI
I am looking to fit 2x 12" bass speakers into cab to run at 4 ohms
i seem to have 2 options
2 x eminence bass lite 150w 8 ohm or
2 x celestion orange label 300w 4 ohm
the amp is a Ampeg Which can operate at 8, 4, 2, ohms
running at 4 ohms output is 380 watts
anybody tried either of these speakers or any advice etc.

Need to match speakers to the box, or the box to the speakers, loads of threads about it, but WinISD is key. Do you have a box already, or are you making one? If you are making one, Eminence have handy box designs ready to go.

To get decent bass out of a speaker the speakers and cab have to be matched as Mr Foxen has said. This rather than the brand should determine which way to go. I'd avoid using 4ohm speakers without checking Xmax which is the excursion. 4 ohm speakers generally have shortened voice coils and wimp out earlier than 8's. In any case you want two 8's to get 4ohms.
