son of frog
Probably cause half the paints missing... also he doesnt mention what state the electronics are in, Probably quite bad, Also he isn't the original owner and so i expect its quite hard to tell if it has had any aftermarket parts fitted. Yet still its quite nice for that price... I wish i had a bigger wallet. Edited April 24, 2011 by son of frog

ThomBassmonkey
The way the paint's worn on the forearm contour looks odd. If it was naturally that worn, shouldn't it be more worn at the top of the body and not just lower down the contour? I think it's another home made relic job that's turned out poorly. If it is what he says it is, it's not a bad price. It'll need a fair bit of work though I expect and would still never be worth the money of one in good nick. 99ster
This seller is quickly acquiring legendary status on eBay - and everything he sells has the unmistakable aura of 'not to be trusted'. It's certainly worth checking out his listings for their entertainment value - but you'd be well advised to think very carefully before investing in one of his 'vintage investments'! 4-string-thing
I see the auctions finished now and somebody has either got a bargain or been ripped off for £800..... The bass in my avatar is fairly well used 70's Fender, how come my paintwork has only gone darker on the forearm chamfering, not worn at all? bigthumb
I have seen Precisions from this era in this state before. I owned a '78 (IIRC) in a lot better condition which I sold for about the same price to somebody here a couple of years ago. Also the case is worth a few quid too. Sellers reputation aside, I'd put my neck out and say that its not been reliced. If so £800 is a wee bit of a bargain, maybe?
cytania
What I don't get is how the control knobs are all pitted, like it's been left face down sans-gigbag against other gear alot, but the tuners are new looking? Are the tuners replacements or the knobs relics?
warwickhunt
It's amazing ( ) how many instruments that he's sold in just the short time I've been watching his auctions and all have been owned for some time... if he is a BC member I hope he doesn't have all of his basses listed in his sig'! Big_Stu
The town where he lives used to have a very good vintage instruments shop, which doubled as an agency for the kind of bands that had the remaining members still touring. A link on this sellers Ebay listing mentions an agency in a similar vein.
