Always fancied a maple fretless, well over priced but still nice to look at :)

Maple fretless - that makes two of us :)

If you think these are overpriced, how much what would you pay for one?

I've recently seen a few mid/late 70's fenders on eBay going for between £700 and £1000...

I generally agree that the prices seem a bit to high and I'd find it hard to justify spending £1000 on one

I'd give about 450, 500 at the most, they're late 70's, near vintage but not quite. Only my opinion you understand chaps :)

Interesting, I guess at the end of the day they are only worth what somebody will pay for them :)

Reason for asking is that I've been looking (on and off) for a 1976 bass - but only due to sad fact it would be as old as I am, which I think would be quite cool - that said I'm not prepared to pay over the odds for one...

As much as I love Fender basses it's ridiculous how the prices of early models can be in the thousands, they're just simply not worth that much, there's another link in this section for a 55 Pbass, 20 grand utter nonsense, to me for a bass that old and special I would pay £1000 and I'd complain about that too ;) but each to his own
