stingrayPete1977
I have sold my Zoom streetboxx as its too much of a hip hop groove box for me and I just want an easy to operate box to sit on top of my amp and cd setup that you just switch on select 4 8 or 16 beats a tempo and go. Im looking at various ones at the moment Boss DR-3, Zoom RT-233/4 and the Alesis SR-16. I have a few in my ebay watch list but I have had a look on you tube at reviews and everyone is showing how it can do a full backing track etc rather than just playing a beat! Any ideas, What have you lot got? Ta, Budget is around (£50-70 secondhand prices) Examples http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Roland-Boss-Dr-Rhyth...=item3a656e854d http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Alesis-SA-16-drum-ma...=item33671649e2 http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ZOOM-RT234-RT-234-RH...=item3a651ad0b5 Alesis is probably my favourite right now. Ta Johnston The SB version of the RT you have has put me off a bit as it had me confuddled! Im sure though the presets on that machine would be fine, Can you turn off all the silly backing track and just keep the drums? Bassassin
I have a Boss DR660 - great little box, very versatile, millions of editable sounds & kits, assignable individual outputs, onboard FX, OK preset patterns & kits, all of which can be edited. The subsequent DR770 lost a lot of functionality and broadly doesn't appear to be as good. However DR660s are knocking on a bit now - had mine since 1995 and it wasn't new then. Looking at Ebay, there aren't very many around & prices seem to have gone batsh!t mental. Very strange. When it was launched the main competition was the SR16, and these are very sensibly priced by comparison, probably because they're still available. Get one of them! Jon. stingrayPete1977
Actually I was looking at one of them 660's I think the retro guys have got their hands on them now! SR-16 is looking like my best bet then. Edited April 25, 2011 by stingrayPete1977
stingrayPete1977
Im after this one but Im waiting for a reply from the seller to clear up the postage issue, He says collection only but in the advert says free postage or is that what he got it for? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...e=STRK:MEWAX:IT If he messages me back I will have it but until I get confirmation on posting Im stuck the price is fine even if he wants to charge me a fiver to post it on top anyway. stingrayPete1977
He just came back to me (Could be a BC member actually?) all sorted and paid for as eBay should be done with instant payment only automatically. Lets hope I can work it! Thanks for the advice everyone
stingrayPete1977
Why me and Ebay? Has anyone had a payment pending symbol come up instead of the £ sign after paying for an item (I always pay instantly and I really think it should be compulsory, If your there to click the buy it now then why not?) then when you log into paypal its saying its unclaimed? I first messaged the seller as soon as I saw it to say I have paid but its pending, Not sure why but I have done my bit as normal. He came back to say not to worry but he wont post until it clears (fair enough). Then when I looked again to see if it had yet I read it again and it has to be claimed by his end and there is nothing I can do? I have messaged him again to ask him to see if there is any messages about the transaction his end and so far after a couple of hours I have heard nothing. There is a similar item ending by normal auction very soon could he be waiting to see what that one ends for or am I looking into it to hard? New one on me any ideas? stingrayPete1977
Well I know there is nowt wrong with my account so I know what the answer there will be and it ends in "off". It says something about the receivers account not be able to accept more than 5 payment via debit/credit card payment if its a personal account not sure if that has anything to do with it? stingrayPete1977
His profile looks good to be fair? Defo a bass player and probably a member here, He likes Jamiroquai and has an Ergodyne bass Probably nothing to worry about.
Spike Vincent
DR 660 here. They're desirable now? Hmmm. The SR 16 is a good enough piece of kit,but I find the sounds a bit dated.
hitchy64
Boss DR3, easy to use and alter the tempo. 100 presets etc. It's more than done it's job for me, great little thing

stingrayPete1977
Well all being well the Alesis SR-16 will be on its way once the paypal snag is resolved. I really only want it as a fancy metronome so Im sure it will be fine even if I have to grow a mullet to use it!
stingrayPete1977
Most likely error is a mis-spelt email in the listing or a change of email address not updated on the sellers details.
