chaypup
Hey, just a quick ask - whats the best way to do the chorus fast riff in Stevie Wonder's 'Do I Do'? My finger's aren't getting it - when i go from Ab on the D string back to the Db on G string and then follow the rest of the riff down, they start giving up Is there a way that works better for you? NB. Obviously the answer is practice more! But y'know, is there a cleverer way is what I wanted to know. Cheers!
Doddy
I basically just cover a 3 fret stretch for most of that riff. I play the high D# with my little finger, the C# with my first finger and then shift position so that my first finger plays the B.I then play the rest of the line between my first and little fingers, and use my middle finger in the C#,D,D# chromatic run at the end. It's not elegant but it works. Just practise the line really slowly, and you'll get it.
