Bero
Has anyone wired up an OBP-3 preamp. Would this fit into a Fender Jazz? Can you get them pre wired
mhuk
I've got an OBP3 and have just had a look (think mine is OBP3SK). It looks like it'll fit under the control plate but you'll have to drill the holes for the pots as the diameter is greater on the OBP3 threads. Looks like the battery will fit under there as well. Mine is sort of wired (a few wires go nowhere) but I think there are plenty of wiring diagrams on their website http://aguilaramp.com/support_wiring_diagrams.htm but there different configurations: http://www.bestbassgear.com/aguilar-obp3-preamp.htm Edited February 13, 2008 by mhuk
Chopthebass
I installed one in the bass I built for our Zapp. You have to double check some of the colours on the wires coz they look similar. Also, you need to buy a couple of 1-meg resistors to solder to the mid-switch to lessed the pop that you get whilst switching. Why they don't include these I don't know. Apart from that, its simple. A great preamp aswell. Although watch the bass boost - you don't need much!
Chopthebass
Oh I meant to say, if you buy from The Gallery, Martin will pre-solder everything for you, if you ask nicely!
