Short scale, 7.25 lbs.
Think i have ruled out short scale basses now. So that narrows the list down a little!

BassBunny
Just been round to Andytoads and grabbed his L2000... will give it a go for a couple of days. If i like it, i then have to consider if it is worth shelling out for a USA model?!
Good move. In my opinion it isn't worth the extra dosh for the US model. I have owned and played both and there is so little difference it ain't worth it. The pick-ups are US made anyway.
bob_e70
Good stuff... its looking more and more like the G&L L2000 will be my bass of choice. Is there a UK distributor that anyone can recommend? Perhaps some good examples on the classifieds?
alanbass1
If you are looking at long scale basses, you ought give these a try as they fit nicely in your price range: http://www.ccmusicshop.com/yamaha-bb424x-t...pid-948519.html
ras52
If you're in Kent, have you visited "Bassworld" in Tonbridge: http://www.americanguitarsuk.com/. I'd be interested to see what you make of it - I went there once, I was the only customer in the place and the guy there didn't seem at all interested in selling me a bass! I was trying an active bass and asked what a switch was for - he said "dunno" and went back to plahying with his laptop :-(
