Give us a clue as to what it is.

Cheers. You have to be a total tardo to pay cash for anything off the bay. But if you imagine that the majority of similar ads (collect only cabs*) are located in Englandshire, he may get a few bites. OP put yourself in our (Scots) shoes - we are similarly frustrated at these* ads all the time.
Ou7shined
Try being Northern Ireland where either they won't ship or they try an extortionate amount of P&P and of course for 99% of the pick up only is useless. Although I thought you weren't allowed Cash on Collection only anymore. I thought you had to offer and accept Paypal or the ad gets pulled?
I feel your pain brother. Your not. But unless someone reports it, it will probably get through.

wateroftyne
I'm confused... what's this thread about? Is it because the seller doesn't do PayPal? If it's collection only, why would you pay via PayPal anyway? C'mon... fill me in on the bit I'm not getting.

I've bought and sold quite a few things cash on collection (as an option, not the only option). Saves giving ebay yet another slice of money through Paypal fees and saves packing things up (I have recently sold, packed, and posted a bass and two pairs of PA speakers, it's a PITA).
I suppose it's possible that the ebay complaints system is open to abuse if you're not paying by Paypal and are up against an unscrupulous seller/buyer who's willing to commit fraud, ie could claim that you paid with a dud cheque or something like that and it'd essentially by word against word, whereas with Paypal and a posted item you've always got the electronic record of payment and the proof of postage to rely on as evidence. But I've done plenty of transactions cash on collection and never had a problem.
Delberthot
When I accepted the offer on my Trace combo the other week, it was on the basis of cash on collection so I wouldn't get charged again for the sale cos it was quite a bit lower than the BIN price but still a hell of a lot more than I paid for it the week before
