paul_5 Posted May 1, 2011 Posted May 1, 2011 Hey y'all. A bit of advice needed, I'm currently trying to decide between an EHX Bass Big Muff, Ashdown drive plus, or the James Lomenzo hyperdrive. I've already got an MXR M80+, which I like to use for a little bit of crunch, but want something a bit more RAAAAHHHHHH in my main dirt box, and am swaying more towards the BBM, what would you do? leonshelley01 Posted May 1, 2011 Posted May 1, 2011 I use a BBM, very versatile with the ability to blend the fuzz with your dry signal as well as a standard muff sound. Quote
holio.cornolio Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 I had the ashdown drive plus. it's a good pedal, but more grrr than raaah. you'll get more raaah from a muffer IMHO. Quote
rmshaw37 Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 From what I've heard of the first 2, they are good for full on distortion/ overdrive, I have the hyperdrive and it's designed for more grit than ott stuff Quote
phatbass787 Posted May 3, 2011 Posted May 3, 2011 demo of the hyperdrive by the man himself - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aQDSDA929Sw...player_embedded Great pedal with lots of great sounds from a bit of grit to full on tones, i use 2! nomis Posted May 3, 2011 Posted May 3, 2011 i have a bbm and for the money its great, versatile filth! Quote
paul_5 Posted May 4, 2011 Author Posted May 4, 2011 Went for the BBM in the end. Lovely, warm, dirty sounds. Nice to have the blend function now too. Thanks for all the advice and links. BTW - anyone else notice that the lamp on their Ashdown pedals generate a tiny bit of noise? Just me then. Quote
