Looking around for info, I found this site which has loads of catalogues of all the Jap brands from 60's-80's.

There are a few electrics on there but you have to dig around for them - BC Rich and Daion for example.

Very good link, but yes, predominantly acoustics. It's worth remembering that acoustic guitar manufacture was the background of most of the Japanese factories prior to the "copy era" in the 70s, and most guitar factories jumped on that bandwagon.

There are a good few electric guitars & basses there but you do have to dig!

Interesting how in all those pages there's not a single copy of a Rickenbacker bass...
