SisterAbdullahX Posted May 7, 2011 Posted May 7, 2011 Hoping to pull the trigger on an Ibanez Promethean P5210 combo soon but was just wondering if anybody has any ideas of how I would use effects pedals with it, bearing in mind it doesn't have a loop. Obviously, plugging straight into the input is one way, but for your chorus, compressor type pedals a loop would be the best thing to use. Any ideas of a way round this? Quote

paul_5 Posted May 7, 2011 Posted May 7, 2011 I've always run pedals in line between the bass and the amp, and have never had any issues. I run a rack compressor on my FX loop, but only because it's in the same case as the amp head, and that's the tidiest way of doing it. Everything else sits on the floor and goes straight into the inut socket on the front of the amp. Sounds good. Quote
xgsjx Posted May 7, 2011 Posted May 7, 2011 I don't use the FX loop on my LMII as there'd be to many wires running around & the chorus (&all the other fx) sounds just fine. I had tried the FX loop & other than the ability to have the effect as layered over the original sound (so you can still hear the original bass sound, which is switchable via a jumper), there's no noticeable benefits.
