dmz
I apologize in advance for introducing you to this site if you don't know it already. A better collection and a more varied collection of basses I've yet to see ! BigRedX
This is doing nothing to relieve my Tune GAS. And also I find myself strangely wanting a Fernandes Gothic Hello Kitty Travel Bass...
ped
I really like Tune basses!! I waded through 104 pages last night!!
ped
The Ken Smith Jazz looks much nicer in Japan, Look: This looks nice, too - pickup placement makes me think it would sound pretty fat:

BigRedX
Just finished working my way through all 106 pages. And now I know where are the trem-equipped Tune Basses are! Normally J-style basses don't really do it for me, but I could be persuaded to find a home for the following: Atelier Z Beta-5 28FL Crews Maniac Sound Be Bottom' Jackson 5 and Crews Maniac Sound Jackson 5 Hollow/JH (TigerEye) And this: The first time I saw a PRS bass I was distinctly underwhelmed, but this is definitely sex in a bass form... dmz
This really is a good site for new models on the scene - I especially love Fender Japan basses. The models they bring out with subtle tweaks to well known vintage instruments always keeps them a step or two ahead of Fender USA in my opinion. I noticed when I went to see Rush at the NEC last October that his main bass - the 73 Jazz - now has a Fender Japan neck and not a Fender Custom Shop neck. That knocked me out that did ! I am also interested by what Bacchus, Crews and Atelier have to offer as well, and yes, the thought of a 5-string Jazz style bass with 28 frets is quite appealing ! Who spotted the Aria bass with the whammy bar - never seen one of those before........ Cheers (with square eyes now) Bill
zapp
That KSD Jazz looks very Celinder inspired to me Ped, and there's nothing wrong with that! Lovely stuff.
Chopthebass
Agreed, that KSD has Celinder arranged controls (just like Zapps!)

allighatt0r
I only got as far as the bottom of the first page before i saw something GAS-worthy for me... It's a GrassRoots Gazette I did a quick Google search and couldn't find a thing. Any chance of a way of converting these prices into pounds? It may fend off some GAS, but then again it could just make it worse! Another GrassRoots... Who'dathunk Pink could look so cool? I'm guessing the switches aren't for each pickup, because there are four... any ideas? I am officially a GrassRoots GAS-er....
BigRedX
There's plenty of on-line currency converters, but as a rough guide ¥200 = £1, so knock off the last two numbers and divide by 2. Also you should pay the lower of the two prices which is the one without tax. Just remember that there's shipping (around £75) and then customs and VAT on top of that (22-25% on top of the Japanese less tax price plus the shipping charge). Edit for example: Your black Grassroots bass is ¥46,500. That's roughly £232.50. Plus £75 shipping = £307.50. Customs, VAT and clearance fee approximately £75, gives you a total of £382.50 HTH Edited March 6, 2008 by BigRedX
steve-soar
Thank the Lord that I'm left handed and could only see a few pieces.
