LiamPodmore
Basically, i have a Warwick ProFet 5.1 and i find it too clean for my liking. I use a Squier 5 String Jazz bass and an old peavey 1x12 PA Cab (Not the best i know) and i want to know if theres any way i can get more aggression and bite out of my amp, without buying any effects. I don't know if its actually possible but i'd like to try if i can. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Liam
paul_5
Have you tried boosting the mids and maybe rolling off a little bass? Sorry if that sounds condescending, but it's easy (and free) to try.
51m0n
Boost around 1-2kHz Cut a bit (careful or you'll sound thin) around 300Hz New strings Edited May 9, 2011 by 51m0n
icastle
Crank the gain control up high and keep the master control backed off?

ahpook
maybe try to dig in a bit harder when you play and get a bit of clank going on ? the eq trick that 51m0n mentioned would deffo be worth a try.
chris_b
It could be a good thing that your amp is clean and clear. You can add all sorts of extras tones through the pedals.
alexclaber
Turn the neck pickup down. And dig in.
LiamPodmore
Thanks for the replies guys. 51m0n, i'll give your EQ trick a try tomorrow (Or as close as i can to those frequencies) and Alex if i turn off my bridge pickup my bass starts to hiss annoyingly, i'm in the process of converting my old Ibanez to a passive P-Bass so that might give me abit more luck. I'm gonna get an overdrive when i can, i found a guy who gets good results out of an ODB-3 so i might get one of those when i get the cash. hillbilly deluxe
Roll the volume down slightly on the neck pickup.
