Hey all

Basically, I have sweaty and really clammy hands and causes so many problems when it comes to bass. If I use an ordinary set of strings, such as rotosound or ernie ball, after two-three days it will sound like they have been under the ocean for a few hundred years; this makes me have to buy a new set of £35 elixir strings every month (and that's just for one bass!). It also makes playing very hard for me, which is the worst part.

I was wondering if anyone that has a similar problem, has found a decent solution for this, like a hand anti-persperant or hand surgery or something!?

It's causing a lot of problems and i'm going to have to stop playing bass and sell all my gear if theres no way to fix this because it's just stressful and I can't afford to change my strings that often, especially £35 ones!

Thanks!

I wouldn't stop playing bass just because your hands tend to sweat more than average. I would recommend wiping down your strings after playing them and maybe look at getting some string cleaner for after practice/gigs etc. A few bass players out there wear gloves and play, I personally think this looks insane but again, worth thinking about perhaps.

It's more so the clamminess of my hands making it hard to play, like sometimes it's actually ridiculous! But if all fails, I guess I could try the gloves for a bit!
