Dave Vader Posted May 17, 2011 Posted May 17, 2011 *probably with Jools doing that annoying boogie-woogie piano behind it, and only for 30 seconds.....* Quote
wateroftyne Posted May 17, 2011 Posted May 17, 2011 I never got the Seasick Steve adulation... Isn't he Country Blues for people who buy CDs from ASDA? *ducks behind rock* Quote

Haven't seen or heard anything that has made me think otherwise to this day. Quote
KK Jale Posted May 17, 2011 Posted May 17, 2011 (edited) I kind of admire SS's schtick and self-invention but does the music really compare... RL Burnside somewhere in a field in 1978 Edited May 17, 2011 by KK Jale Quote

Fair play to SS, though - he's done alright out of it... Quote
RhysP Posted May 17, 2011 Posted May 17, 2011 I couldn't understand why somebody of JPJ's calibre would be backing this f***wit, then I realised he's had extensive experience of playing with sloppy blues guitarists whose ability is far exceeded by the level of adoration they command..... Quote

munkonthehill Posted May 17, 2011 Posted May 17, 2011 I like Seasick Steve. Some of the stuff is bland, but I really appreciate his raw sound. Paired up with the superior bass sound of JPJ........oh now that I cant wait to see Quote
KingPrawn Posted May 17, 2011 Posted May 17, 2011 Just watched JP Jones playing with sea sick steve, only think was I could see his hands running all over the neck. Cool rig etc. But could not hear a bass sound. What has just happened. Quote
L_Bass_Dog85 Posted May 17, 2011 Posted May 17, 2011 Came home too late to see JPJ in action! Waiting for BBC iPlayer to put it on then another wait for it to buffer for a century... Luke Quote
munkonthehill Posted May 17, 2011 Posted May 17, 2011 nope I couldnt hear any bass either. I though it was because I was on the wee telly in the bedroom but i guess not!!!!!!!!!!!! Quote

Then JH said it was Animals suggestion Quote
daz Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 Your all cloth eared. I heard his bass fine unless i was audio hallucinating again. Quote
OzMike Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 (edited) 'tube link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=beXuw-x166o The bass was mixed way too low, IMHO. Does JPJ always leave the pickup covers on? Guess it's ok if you pluck right on the end of the fingerboard. Edited May 18, 2011 by OzMike Quote
stonecoldbass Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 Anyone else think that JPJ looks like 'Bishop' (Lance Henriksson) from the 'Aliens' movie??! Quote
