skidder652003
Hi guys newbie here so go easy! Ive been offered a 62 reissue MIJ fender jazz for £600. Is this a fair price? Im not too fussed over the condition cosmetically as its gonna get gigged regular although im lead to believe its in very good order. I dont know if they make em anymore so im not too sure of its true value. any advice much appreciated.
gjones
Well I got my one here on Basschat 3 mths ago for £380 which is a very good price. I think £600 is too much. Around £450/£500 would be a good deal in my opinion. Oh, and they do still make them. Edited May 16, 2011 by gjones
cycrowave
The first thing you want to find out, is whether it was made for the Japanese domestic market or for export. I have an export 62 ri jazz, and whilst its a great bass and I love it, they are inferior to the non export models. For example, mine is made of basswood weras the non export ones are generally alder like the usa fenders. I'm really no expert, but that sounds expensive. A mint condition non export model might be worth that much, try and get some pics and post them here. There's some pretty knowledgeable bass geeks lurking about
