P Bass Wiring

Recommended Posts

Hi fellas,
Yes I know it doesn't get much simpler than this, but I'm just wondering if I've managed to cock it up!?
I bought new pots, cap, wiring and p'up for my Precision and wired it up as per these instructions;

Sounds fine, except the controls work anti-clockwise! I've checked and re-checked looked at other wiring diagrams but don't seem to locate a problem, so am thinking I could have been sold dodgy pots, or is there something else I'm missing completely?

Can anyone who knows about lecktrickery shed any light?

Cheers :)

That's easy enough.
On the back of the pot you have three contacts.

The middle one is OK so leave that one as it is.

The outer two need to be wired the other way round - so whatever you have got attached to the left hand contact needs to go to the right hand contact and vice versa. :)

No problem.

For future reference, this is a good representation of how the wiring on a standard PB should look like...
