BassBus
This clip appeared on my recommendations on youtube. Most are not what I would describe as the greatest but that's just my opinion. Any others you can think of that might be better?

risingson
I've heard a lot of them before and I couldn't agree or disagree on any one of them. I'd say there were plenty of better ones.
dc2009
It's a shame that the greatest intro of all time was done on a guitar with an octave pedal.... I swear hoppus cocks up in the second run through of that riff and scuffs a note, useless bass player imho
Michaelg
off the top of my head this is probably my favourite i quite like the bass riff here to be honest i don't really know many tracks that have bass intros Edited May 22, 2011 by Michaelg
EskimoBassist
Managed to guess that Hysteria would be number 1 without even watching the clip. Deserved inclusion of Jeremy Was A Racecar Driver though IMHO, ncie little bass part that.
Ed_S
Partial to a bit of "Colour My XTC" by Talisman, myself.. classic bit of Marcel!

But I've never really regarded him as a particularly amazing player so it doesn't suprise me in the least. But I guess their music was never really about perfection so perhaps it doesn't matter that much.

Still haven't seen EITS live, but I really want to. If it weren't for exams I would have seen them this month in Manchester.

Apart from the intro most of hysteria was played by Matt Bellamy with a pick for the bass? random fact haha Mr. Big - Addicted to that rush espeically live! Wicked intro! And speical mention to Dood with Real - I want the world Nuclear Rabbit - Truth's Ugly head simple but great! Amazing bass playing on that track! Though yes i'd say Hysteria is possibly the best rock (just rock) intro for bass! For metal, i'd give Dream Theater - Panic Attack a shout, with Orion and for whom the bell tolls also come to mind, Stranglers - Peaches and Pink Floyd - Money more for iconic-ness
