Tinman Posted May 25, 2011 Posted May 25, 2011 Girls Aloud for five reasons Seriously though, I'd love to have played in Genesis (both incarnations) Quote
obbm Posted May 25, 2011 Posted May 25, 2011
Bruce Springsteen - the chance to play in one of the best bands in the world, and alongside the great Max Weinberg too would be amazing. Stones too - great songs / band etc. Could probably do that dep without a run through...
+1 on these two plus John Fogerty Steve Earle and the Dukes Quote
TransistorBassMan Posted May 25, 2011 Posted May 25, 2011 Gary Numan (especially 78-81) Big Country James Booker T & The MGs The Blockheads Creedence Clearwater Revival The Specials Quote
Ross Posted May 25, 2011 Posted May 25, 2011 The who, or James brown. Way back when they were mainstream. If it had to be someone today I'm pretty easy, most of the crap on radio 1 today would just be another session gig for me. Quote
squire5 Posted May 25, 2011 Posted May 25, 2011 Definitely James Taylor,without a doubt and also,though it's too late now,Gerry Rafferty. Quote

wombatboter Posted May 25, 2011 Posted May 25, 2011 James Taylor...also because he has an audience that listens and not only wants to be "entertained" Quote

Jarhead Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 Have to say The Roots, because they are quite simply the best hip-hop band to ever exist. Quote

Have you seen Gaga play piano and sing in different styles?! It's quite amazing for a popular artist to A) look so normal as in girl next door and B )be able to write, sing so well and play instruments with that much talent. I didn't think much of her until I started to hear about her past and her musicianship.
Honestly?! Her voice to me is incredibly average, and I can't tell the difference between her songs and a load of 90s europop that we used to laugh at for the cheesy production values. I don't know about musical talent, perhaps she has it in bucketloads, but I can't say it's evident in her hits. Excellent at marketing though and evidently she's got something right with those songs, I just don't see why it works for her but those 90s euro gay club divas failed to crossover in the same way. Oh, back on topic, the Roots is a great call! Edited May 27, 2011 by LawrenceH Quote

ezbass Posted May 28, 2011 Posted May 28, 2011 Peter Gabriel. A little away from the mainstream Robben Ford or Eric Johnson would fit the bill nicely too. Quote
