Darshan Posted May 23, 2011 Posted May 23, 2011 Any suggestions? I was thinking about getting a Electro-Harmonix small Clone, anyone used these on a bass and have feedback, would be much appreciated. Quote
Gareth Hughes Posted May 23, 2011 Posted May 23, 2011 The Boss CEB-3 is a classic - and yep, I'm selling one http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=134212 Quote
prog_fiend Posted May 23, 2011 Posted May 23, 2011 The Markbass Chorus/Flanger is sick... and I just happen to have one for trade/sale http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=134870 Quote
EskimoBassist Posted May 23, 2011 Posted May 23, 2011 I've got a CEB-3 myself, very good for the money. Solid as a tank, very modern sounding chorus with the ability to sweep the range of signal that the Chorus effects, so you can keep your lowend plenty intact and clean. The Markbass really does look like the dogs dangly bits, bit more than I would want to pay for a Chorus/Flanger but if you use a lot of either it's definitely worth its' weight in gold. Great sounds, lots of functionality and control and it looks pretty cool aswell. As far as other pedals go that you might be interested in, check out the EBS UniChorus for something equally as professional as the Mark Bass, but a fair bit cheaper and with smaller footprint as it doesn't have multiple digital presets, and the EHX Neo Clone is a new favourite that seems to be popping up, much less control than the other pedals but with a competitive price tag to match. Personally I'm after a UniChorus or an Analogman Mini w/Deep mod and blend, but the Analogman rarely comes up for sale and when it does it's pretty expensive. Quote
Stewart Posted May 23, 2011 Posted May 23, 2011 Small Clone is a pretty nice chorus for bass, I reckon Allegedly, the nano version sounds identical - if so, it's a more friendly shape and size... Quote

The NEO version is but the NANO version is rubbish. Quote
Al Heeley Posted May 23, 2011 Posted May 23, 2011 I had a Boss CEB-3 but it didn't suit me, not quite deep enough. Replaced with a Digitech multi-voice chorus - much wider depth range but digital and a bit 'metallic' sounding, still using it. I found a circuit for a modded Small Clone and built that at home with depth knob and 4 'voice' settings, its very sweet, works well on bass and lead, and very versatile range. It's my favourite chorus pedal, very quiet, true bypass. Quote
Lozz196 Posted May 23, 2011 Posted May 23, 2011 I`ve a Boss CE-5 Chorus Ensemble. Works very nicely. Always worth trying Boss - they may be the volvo & labrador of the effects world, but theres a reason for that, they are reliable, and worth the money - especially 2nd hand. Quote
xgsjx Posted May 23, 2011 Posted May 23, 2011 I'm using a Boss CE-2 that I borrowed off a guitarist mate about a year or more ago & will need to replace it when I see him as I love the wowowowow for dubby sounds. Quote
Doddy Posted May 24, 2011 Posted May 24, 2011 I use a DOD Ice Box.....it's nothing special, but it sounds cool. Quote
73Jazz Posted May 25, 2011 Posted May 25, 2011 i liked the EXAR Moby Dick. Some chorus weaken the fundament of your sound, but this pedal doesn`t, you can blend the amount of chorus into your sound. GazWills Posted May 25, 2011 Posted May 25, 2011 i love my old ibanez CS-9... nothing over the top sounds wise, but a fantastic chorus, sounds great after a fuzz too Quote

chrismuzz Posted May 25, 2011 Posted May 25, 2011 Neo clone has a permanent spot on my pedalboard, exactly the same as the small clone, only smaller! You wont get a better brand new chorus pedal than that for £50! The nano clone tends to have some ugly clipping thing going on with some basses so it's best to avoid it. Quote
Fretless Eric Posted May 31, 2011 Posted May 31, 2011 (edited) I'm only recently getting effects after many years of playing. One of the boxes I have is the T-Rex Sweeper that no-ne has mentioned yet. I haven't tried many recent boxes but in the past I have been disappointed with chorus especially for removing the bottom end, I don't find that at all with this. Not a thorough reply but I am pleased with it and I hope it helps. jensenmann Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 (edited) I´m using A TC2290 delay which is 19" rackmount or a TC SCF pedal or a Ibanez BC9 bi chorus for chorus sounds. The 2290 needs to get tweaked for chorus sounds but it sounds spectacular. Edited June 2, 2011 by jensenmann Quote
