Known to one and all as Jack, he played bass (and possibly drums) in a couple of bands during the 60's, The Maze and MI5 (two members of whom left to form Deep Purple.) and recorded with Joe Brown in the late 60's early 70's. He ran the Virgin recording studios in Windsor, Berks, also in the late 60's-early 70's which was nothing to do with Richard Branson at that time.
