It is with a heavy heart that I do this, as I really want to keep hold of this bass (I still might, as I do love it), but with the recent acquisition of a Spector, I really should let this go to keep my bank balance looking healthy. Ideally I'd like to keep hold of both basses, but I think I have to think with my head and not my heart here!

I recently acquired this bass through this forum, and it's never been gigged since I got it. Condition is 9/10, if not 9.5/10. There is also a slight groove on the pickups over the B string, but apart from that, the previous owner really babied this one, it seems! He told me of two tiny scratches but I've since forgotten where they are supposed to be, and I do apologise for that. It's a Stealth I model, made in 1997. It's famously a completely graphite, monocoque design bass, I say "neck through" though in essence the neck is part of the body. It also has the "bright switch" feature, which is very neat. The bass is light, plays beautifully and sounds brilliant. Think the tone Hellborg got from his Status basses and you're pretty much there!

I'd like £800 for it, plus whatever it costs to ship, and I will ship it in a Warwick Snakeskin hardcase.

The Bass Gallery in London have this similar model for sale for £999, though mine is black. Because of this, I think I'm offering a pretty good deal for this gorgeous bass. I'll be sad to see it go if it does sell, but then thats for the best.

Thanks for looking guys!

Price dropped because I really need to get some cash in my hands for an urgent matter that has arisen today...so sadly it looks like I will definitely not be able to keep hold of this one. As I say, £800 + shipping costs will get you the bass and the Warwick case for it.

Chris,

I been meaning to move over to six for ages... and now my gitarist is on my case... so am probably in the market for one, plus have always had a soft spot for all that carbon :)

Do you know what the sting spacing at the nut and bridge is?

Bit worried about having something that is too close as this is what screws me up when i try and play those little toy six strings that guitarists [ab]use.

Thanks

The string spacing at the nut is, according to Status specifications, 45.0mm (1.77"). At the bridge it is 18.0mm (0.71"). It's a very easy bass to play, with what is probably my favourite six string neck. When I can afford to go abck to Status, I definitely will...I'm a big lover of graphite in basses! I jumped straight to this with no problems having come from playing 4 string exclusively and it was an easy enough jump to make. However, I'm hopeless on guitars, now thats what I call tight spacing!
Tis a shame I just brought a Marshall VBA400, I would have been very interested in this.
'tis a shame but I'm sure it will go to a good home regardless!

There are a couple of guys interested, funnily enough it might still end up in Wales or it might even go overseas if one of these guys decides to buy it! Best place for it I suppose, away from me where it can tempt me to keep hold of it! :)

 • 2 weeks later...

.... I bought it in the end, so it did end up in wales... via a round trip drive of about 650 miles to spend 39 minutes in newcastle and collect the bass (but the train wanted £270, so the car was always gonna suffer).

Fantastic bass... really gonna enjoy getting to know this one.

Just wanted to post and let you all know that Chris was the perfect seller. All the info was good, the price was fair and there was no messing about. + he seemed a pretty good guy all round, so top marks to chris

Cheers
