carl0s Posted May 23, 2011 Posted May 23, 2011 My Peavey Cirrus BXP is really bad for noise. The noise is suppressed until you play a note. Kind of like the squelch control on a CB radio. To be fair, the Peavey's batteries died a couple of days ago and I haven't put new ones in it yet, so maybe with full batteries it'll be OK, but.. I just got a Lakland 44-01, and on higher notes (9th fret on top string upwards), I can hear (only just, but I do tune into it), a sort of transistor fuzz in the background of the note. It's like coil whine/fuzz, what a lot of laptops do nowadays. I can hear it with my Pod on bypass too.. still going through the Pod, but just on Tuner mode. Should I just get over it and tune my head out of it? Quote
carl0s Posted May 23, 2011 Author Posted May 23, 2011 Does my head in. I've always been a gadget and electronics freak, but nowadays bloody dimmer lightswitches, computer graphics cards, dvd players, TVs, my laptop when it's on AC.. they all irritate me with unwanted noises. Quote
