Clarky Posted May 28, 2011 Posted May 28, 2011 (edited) I did have a search out for a 5-string Wal but was today offered a Wal Mk2 4-string at a reasonable price and - having wondered whether I would really get to grips with a 5-string (I have flunked before when I had an Alembic 5'er) - decided to play it safe and buy the 4-stringer. So here is the rather lovely 2004 American Walnut-faced, ebony board Mk2 I have acquired today [attachment=81141:SDC11177.jpg][attachment=81146:Wal_4.jpg] Edited May 28, 2011 by Clarky Quote

I would love a Wal but can't justify the expense, nice score there C Quote

lozbass Posted May 29, 2011 Posted May 29, 2011 Whooaah - absolutely fabulous! I'm very envious indeed Quote
BigRedX Posted May 29, 2011 Posted May 29, 2011 Nice! Actually that's very nice. Maybe it's time to start a thread for fretted/fretless pairs? Quote
BassBod Posted May 29, 2011 Posted May 29, 2011 I'd be interested to hear what you think of the two body designs. I've owned two of the original shape (Pro IIE and MkI custom) and found them heavy but also poorly balanced (heavy tuners, short upper body horn!?). Does the later body design make that much difference? Quote
