tonybassplayer Posted May 30, 2011 Posted May 30, 2011 Been playing live for about 7 years now and essentially just dropped the amp and cab down and with very little fiddling about just cracked on with the gig but I decided to have a play around with the gain control last week and discovered that I can now get that "growl" that I have admired from other players ( I use a "geddy" Jazz ) Nice to be able to cut through a bit more without increasing the overall volume Quote

Ancient Mariner Posted May 30, 2011 Posted May 30, 2011 Are you talking about more or less gain? I've fiddled a bit, and like enough gain to get a little compression but so that it stays clean, rounded and punchy too. That's on a J-type with Geddy Lee pickups. Quote
