Delberthot Posted May 31, 2011 Share Posted May 31, 2011 Depending on what you had on their before you'll have to adjust the neck to some degree I remember being in a sticky situation having only a cheap bass with no strings and a set of these a couple of hours before I was due to gig. I put the strings on, tuned them up and off to the gig I went. By the time I got there the neck was like a banana. By sheer luck more than anything else, I was able to adjust the truss rod enough to straighten it out in that short space of time without the truss rod trying escape the inside of the neck Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
lettsguitars Posted May 31, 2011 Share Posted May 31, 2011 most necks will need an adjust with different gauges i reckon. and it's gotta be THE easiest thing in the world as long as you have a screw driver and the allen key, and the nut isn't in some ridiculous position like at the heel with those darned stringy things in the way. whos idea was that eh? danhkr Posted June 1, 2011 Share Posted June 1, 2011 Power Slinkies are 55-110 which is pretty heavy. I usually have to adjust the neck relief when switching between 45's and 50's, so in my experience you'll almost certainly need to with these. If you're not set-up savy, I'd always recommend a pro set-up on any guitar where you're jumping up 2 or 3 string gauges. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
