dougal Posted May 31, 2011 Posted May 31, 2011 Quick question: one of my basses needs a new nut. I haven't done much luthier-ish work since I left the states, where I would always order from Stew Mac. What's the UK equivalent? I need nut blanks and files. Quote
geoffbyrne Posted May 31, 2011 Posted May 31, 2011 (edited) http://www.axesrus.co.uk/ at least for the nut - not sure about the files, haven't trawled through it recently. Free postage. G. Edited May 31, 2011 by geoffbyrne Quote
Jondeeman Posted May 31, 2011 Posted May 31, 2011 Hey Dougal, Stew Mac will still deliver to UK! Don't necessarily give up on them as a source, especially for the tools. Quote
BigRedX Posted May 31, 2011 Posted May 31, 2011 For tools I don't think you can beat Stew Mac even after shipping and import taxes, so you might as well order the nut blanks from them at the same time. Are there any good sources of luthiers tools in the UK or does everyone import? What do our resident BassChat luthiers do? Quote
dougal Posted June 2, 2011 Author Posted June 2, 2011 Touchstone has been recommended to me. They seem to have a good stock (but no 6 string bass nuts - how hard can they be to find?!?!) Quote
