dougal
Quick question: one of my basses needs a new nut. I haven't done much luthier-ish work since I left the states, where I would always order from Stew Mac. What's the UK equivalent? I need nut blanks and files. geoffbyrne
http://www.axesrus.co.uk/ at least for the nut - not sure about the files, haven't trawled through it recently. Free postage. G. Edited May 31, 2011 by geoffbyrne
Jondeeman
Hey Dougal, Stew Mac will still deliver to UK! Don't necessarily give up on them as a source, especially for the tools.
BigRedX
For tools I don't think you can beat Stew Mac even after shipping and import taxes, so you might as well order the nut blanks from them at the same time. Are there any good sources of luthiers tools in the UK or does everyone import? What do our resident BassChat luthiers do?
dougal
Touchstone has been recommended to me. They seem to have a good stock (but no 6 string bass nuts - how hard can they be to find?!?!)
