Salt on your Bass?
Hi Guys, Forgive my ignorance on this matter, but are there any EUB techs you can recommend to give mine a once over? Also, for my own knowledge about these things, are there specific EUB/DB techs, or can any bass tech do the same?? Secondly, I'm aiming to bow more than finger style (if I ever manage to learn!), does the bass need setting up any differently to accommodate this? I had my first hack around yesterday and managed to get a few decent (bloody awful! ) results, but wondered if I needed to raise the bridge slightly or whether there was anything else?? I figure its going to be much better to hand it over to someone who knows what they're doing, so any recommendations on people would be gratefully recieved. I'm west london, but work east end so anywhere there or between would be great. Something I've kinda just thrown myself into without really doing a lot of reading up on, or having any sort of understanding!! Thanks Edited May 31, 2011 by Salt on your Bass? BassBod
Mo Clifton is in Blackheath, although probably not around till July (he spends some time in France these days). It all depends on your current set up and strings etc, but generally if you play arco you'll want a higher action than a jazzer playing pizz all the time. But its all relative, so get your current set up appraised and see what is suggested.
Salt on your Bass?
Thanks BassBod. Yeah, thats what I thought would be the best move. Might struggle to get to blackheath though. Any recommendations for anyone more central? I'll give the bass gallery a shout and my normal guitar tech, I'm just unsure if EUBs are a specialist skill so dont want to pay for someone to look at it without a recommendation on here. However i don't know if he does much EUB work.
