Clarky Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 Bit of a tart's handbag but better than bl**dy awful upside down Thunderbird-y Warwick monstrosity! Quote
Jean-Luc Pickguard Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 Absolutely ridiculous He must be having a joke at the expense of wealthy idiots with cloth ears. Quote
hillbilly deluxe Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 What kind of tw4t would play a gold sparkle precision ? Heres mine...........again. IMO it needs gold hardware too. Quote
Musicman20 Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 Thank god its not an obscene shape. Quite nice! Quote
Roland Rock Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 (edited) I love the term "Hand Selected" alder. They could "hand select" the crappiest boards in the storeroom, as it's going to be finished in gaudy gold anyway. Edited June 2, 2011 by Roland Rock Quote

MacDaddy Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 Could be wrong, but I seem to remember him playing a J rather than a P? Quote

franzbassist Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 If my 9yo daughter designed a bass, it would probably look like this. Quote
thodrik Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 So how many gigs did the Warwick last for? Well it looks like a sparkly Precision. So Fender make a few, Mr Clayton selects the best ones and the ones he doesn't want get sold off at a great profit. Good business for Fender. I'm glad at least it doesn't have one of those relic finishes that are so common now. I'm guess the finish shines nicely on stage when you are playing in large arenas with one of the most famous bands on the planet. It is what it is. I personally think Mr Clayton has shown more imagination when designing basses than when writing basslines. (In seriousness though, he is a competent player.) Quote

Lozz196 Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 Think AC has played both Precisions and Jazzes throughout his career, so makes sense for him to get a Fender sig model. No matter how bad the gold is on this Precision, it beats that awful Warwick. That was just yuck! Quote
AndyTravis Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 I follow Fender Custom Shop on twitter... They've just announced an Adam Clayton precision bass, looks a bit pants, but nicer than the reverso! I know as a player he divides opinion, I think he suits U2 well, and it's a bit too easy to slate him, I appreciate his playing, just not his taste in basses, or his singer... https://twitter.com/fendercustom/status/76084584307113985 In other news, this bass is fit https://twitter.com/fendercustom/status/75693655033249792 So, what will Warwick boys be least chuffed about today, how many reversos have they sold anyhow?! Quote
nick Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 Seems like a Fender answer to Lakland's 'Duck Dunn' bass. Quote
AndyTravis Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 (edited) Other thread spotted, still, the Porazzo thing is hot! Edited June 2, 2011 by AndyTravis Quote

Also, nobody in their right mind would pay Custom Shop prices for that, surely?! Quote
Randy_Marsh Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 It's a bit OTT but for some reason, I like the Clayton bass... Quote
