Robin UK Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 Hi All, I've just bought a Pair of Ohm MR-130i Monitors, and need to get an appropriate amp for them. THey're rated at 100W RMS, and are 16 Ohm. I know the usual plan is twice the RMS watts to avoid amplifier distortion, however finding a 200W into 16 Ohm studio (or just fanless) amplifier seems a) difficult, and maybe abit overkill with a sesitivity of 91 dB 1W/1m. Any suggestions (don't have a budget much over £100, so looking second hand mostly)? Was beign tempted by a valve amplifier, hwoever much lower output, and possibly not the best idea for mixing. SHould i just go for a lower powered amplifier and not turn it up too far? Quote
