FlatEric Posted June 3, 2011 Posted June 3, 2011 (edited) I have had this for several years and am now thinking of letting some one else give it a home. I bought this when I had Major GAS for a genuine USA 70's Jazz. My friend has one and I just wanted one so bad, after lending it me to do a big outdoor gig. This is actually a "75" Reissue, which are cracking basses in their own right. The previous owner put a late 60's - early 70's decal on it, to make it look like that period. I had the gas so bad the as soon as I spotted it, I thought that'll do for the time being! I have had my '72 now for some time and only bring this out for a quick thrash and a wipe down. It is fitted with (cost then was £85 - I think) a £100 worth of Fender Custom Shop Pick-ups, has a great neck an LOW action - a breeze to play. Custom Shop Pick-ups So, to confirm, it is actually. . . . . a Fender Japan, 75 Reissue, with Custom shop Pick-ups but. . . . . it has had the decal changed and because of that it obviously knocks the value. The serial number on the '75 is on the head but the original owner made a note of it, which I do have and will list when I can dig it out. It can best be described as Minty! If this bass had hung in a shop for a couple of days being played two or three times, that is the condition of it. Almost "out of the box" I am looking for £435.00, which is a delivered price to most parts of the UK. Would have been looking for a bit more if totally original but I think it is fair. I had the GAS bad, so paid over the odds. If, however you have the GAS so bad for it, perhaps you could offer me more!!! Only Joking!! For reference only - this is my '72 that replaced it, along with my US P on the left which is still up for sale if anyone fancies it. Any questions, fire away. Cheers.
