Thanks for that. Really something to look forward to. Saw them at the Bath Festival back in whenever, maybe '68. They were just spot on. So here by way of an indulgence is one my favourite youtube clips.

I've already set up Sky+ to record!

He had so many great musicians alongside him....great bass players too.

For me, he was superb until around 'Inner Secrets', don't think they ever really made it back from the more poppy direction.

I can really recommend one of his solo albums - 'Oneness' - up there with his best best work IMHO.

I absolutely love the band but strangely don't rate his guitar playing at all.

Although I do think that Carlos is a bit "out there" but each to their own.

I got tickets to see Santana about 7 or 8 years ago. Before the actual concert, I told a friend (who also likes them) that I'd be going to see them and he said he had seen them a couple years earlier and thought they were pretty bad. That took the shine off my anticipation, but I really enjoyed the concert and would certainly go to see them again. I guess all bands have good and bad gigs.
