skej21
I own the Overwater Aspiration Contemporary J 5 and have to say, they are fantastic instruments! Obviously they are not built by the guy's at Overwater directly, they are built abroad (by Tanglewood), but Chris May is VERY VERY VERY keen to make sure that these instruments reflect the quality of the Overwater brand and do not tarnish the reputation he has built. There's a video of him giving some of these a once over out of the box, somewhere in Wetherby before they head out to the shops, so he is really involved with making sure these are great and the customer is happy. Based on the quality of mine, I'd say buy it! The quality, playability, aesthetics and tone are all great on mine... You can check them out on the overwater website - Overwater Aspiration basses by Tanglewood Edited June 6, 2011 by skej21

Chris May brought them up to the last ACG BassBash in Moffat. They are fantastic instruments and they are not just a licencing deal, Chris went over to the factory to oversee the initial production run.
