Sibob Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 As the title suggests really, any bass pedals that slow the attack of a note? Essentially an auto-fade in I guess. Not a 'Reverse' as I don't want the note to cut off, decay as normal Cheers Si Quote

Or were you after something bass-specific? Quote
ahpook Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 guyatone did a version called 'slow volume', but i'm not sure if they're made any more. Quote
cheddatom Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 I've seen the slow gear circuit around on the web. I reckon you could make one easily enough Quote
Sibob Posted June 7, 2011 Author Posted June 7, 2011 Cheers, I'll have a scout about. Yeah something bass-centric would be ideal! Si Quote

Depends on whether Si feels he can stoop to Behringer pedals. Quote

Always wondered why Boss never reissued the Slow Gear; I think it must have been one of those things that didn't sell at the time but now everybody wants. Anyway; something similar: why not just use a volume pedal for swells? Too labour intensive for you? Quote
Sibob Posted June 7, 2011 Author Posted June 7, 2011 A bit labour intensive yeah, I have a couple if tunes in my hiphop/dubstep band that have every note swelled...I'm not riding the volume pedal for 8mins lol. Plus the Me-50b volume function has a noticeable notch between off and on, so it's hard to be consistent. As you might have guessed from my other thread, I'm vaguely thinking about replacing it for single pedals, but it's a great piece if kit, so we'll see Si Quote
DanOwens Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 The EHX Bass Microsynth has an 'Attack Delay' slider which is effectively an 'Attack' control from a VCA ADSR control, but I'd go for the Behringer or kit. Quote
EskimoBassist Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 The Micro Synth has loads of great sounds in it though which would work a dream in Hip Hop/ Dub Step so maybe it would be a worthwhile investment? Quote
thisnameistaken Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 I would recommend the EHX BMS too, if you've never had one before. But get the older steel-cased 24v model and mod it for true bypass - the newer 9v box sounds pretty weedy by comparison, the older one sounds beastly. Quote
Sibob Posted June 7, 2011 Author Posted June 7, 2011 Most of the sounds I use are pretty clean actually, there are synths layered over the top for dirty sounds. I'm more interested in providing the sub and supportive bass sounds. I've owned and used an EHX Micro Synth, nice piece of gear, but it got sold. Found the sliders too fiddly for quick changes live. prog_fiend Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 I use the Benringer SM200 (as well as the PH9) with my touchstlye 12-string beast. Does a very very good impression of 'Satori In Tangier'. Quote
absolutpepper Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 Perhaps a bit of an obvious one but why not just swell into the notes using a volume pedal, something like a VP-Jr is pretty responsive and would work grand. Quote
