Thunderthumbs Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 (edited) Due to my engine deciding to commit suicide, and a replacement required, I sadly have to sell my Stingray 2EQ in natural with maple neck and black scratchplate. I took this from Matt (Machines) in a swap deal in 2008, and loved it from the moment I saw it. It's in fantastic condition for a 16 year old bass. Matt had obviously looked after it, and I have too. Matt's original swap thread As Matt stated in his thread, the previous owner had a new pickup position routed, but Matt immediately moved the pickup back to its original position. I've kept it in the original position too. It doesn't affect the tone, and is a very clean job, should you wish to experiment in the other position. Some of the photos are Matt's which he has kindly allowed me to use. Any questions, please free to ask. Price £650 (+ p&p if delivery required). drewk_ie Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 Have a free bump for a fantastic bass at a great price, used to own one just like (but a 1994 if I remember)
Macko1968 Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 Lovely example & a good £200 cheaper than I've seen basses of this era go for recently. someone's going to get a bargain.
Machines Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 Oh crap, I want this back ! I'll see if my Dad wants to sub me, am not joking. If you sell this before I get back to you I will ban you .
stingrayPete1977 Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 Surely that needs a pair of pups and a pg made to fit? That would be sweet as IMO, neat route too. Bumperoo
Machines Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 Ok - looks like I can't get the cash together so people can now approach the seller without fear of termination. Bump !
Thunderthumbs Posted June 9, 2011 Author Posted June 9, 2011
how is the G string on this? projects well?
It was my main gigging bass til I got my GB Spitfire, and I never had any cause for complaint. On another note, the Ibanez Blazer in your avatar was my first serious bass! I got one cos I loved the Stingray (like the one I'm selling), but couldn't afford one. Wish I still had that bass too.
Thunderthumbs Posted June 11, 2011 Author Posted June 11, 2011 Forgot to add, would trade for a 1.4 Peugeot diesel engine (8HZ engine) for a 52 plate 307.....fitted.
bassybill Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 (edited) Dammit - I just sold a Stingray TODAY and I'm already gassing for another one. This is GORGEOUS. Edited July 24, 2011 by bassybill
