Trace Elliot V-type combo

Hi there,

I'm considering selling my old, barely used, Limited Edition Trace Elliot V-Type combo '97. (280watt RMS 580watt Peak)

Only problem is - having obtained the amp as part of a fortunate endorsement deal by Trace Elliot, way back when,
I have no idea of the original cost, or how much they go for these days.

After scouring the net, I discovered Trace Elliot don't even make amps any more!

Could it be, I might have a collectors item on my hands?

If anyone has any info on this model, or can help with an evaluation - I'd be most grateful.

Many thanks.

p.s. I recently woke it from its slumber ... works like a charm.

Welcome! Trace elliot do still make amps (http://www.trace-elliot.co.uk/index.php#home), but they aren't the same company any more. They're now owned by Peavey. As for value you're probably in the £350-400 ballpark. Only downside is these amps are extremely heavy and the current trend is towards lightweight gear. Supposed to sound the mutts nutts though, so you shouldn't have any bother shifting it.

Thanks Bigwan - I stand corrected.

That's the sort of figure I had in mind, but wanted to check.

And yes, the Trace valve sound is a beaut!

All the best.

Cracking combo, I used to have one of these and one of the 1x15 versions, loved them both (preferred the 1x15 coz it was lighter and could go louder but this was AWESOME for jazz and stuff). Sold it for around £375 IIRC. Miss the sound sometimes, not the weight  What I REALLY regret selling, though, was the 4x8 extension cab for this. That was cracking.

God luck with the sale :)

EDIT: just spotted yours is far more sensible than the one I had; yours has two side handles, mine only had a strap handle on top :) Glad they sorted that one :D
