Scooby Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 (edited) Here's a lovely Shuker 6 String lined fretless that I accepted in part-exchange recently. It's a Through neck deluxe +, Neck is maple and paduak, EMG pups and shuker 3 band preamp - all the technical spec here: It's been completely set-up with new Rotosound Flatwound strings and sounds amazing! The combination of the Shuker EQ with the EMG's gives you so much tonal range! The body is fairly narrow making it very comfortable to play and weighs much less than most other 6 strings that I've played. The body wood looks like Ovangkol - not absolutely certain - but it has a beautiful flame effect, particularly when the light catches it. There is very little fingerboard wear and the only defects are three very, very slight marks on the headstock, which doesn't show on any pictures I've tried to take. Overall, a great bass from a Master luthier. Edited June 24, 2011 by Scooby
MoonBassAlpha Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 Nice choice of dark fret marker lines - looks unlined from a distance. My US M has the same, works great for me!

Scooby Posted June 9, 2011 Author Posted June 9, 2011 BuMp cos I seem to have fallen off the bottom of the page ;o)))
Scooby Posted June 10, 2011 Author Posted June 10, 2011 Hey ho and up she rises...! Tempt me with an offer?
Scooby Posted June 10, 2011 Author Posted June 10, 2011 Decided to do a special price until Monday - it's now £825. That's got to be a good deal for a bespoke bass!
TorVic Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 Lovely tone in the recording! How old is this guitar?
Scooby Posted June 10, 2011 Author Posted June 10, 2011 (edited) I'm not exactly certain of the precise date as Jon never puts a serial number on his basses. However, the approximate year of production is late 2007. Edited June 12, 2011 by Scooby
Rumble Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 That is such a beautiful fretless tone. I usually abhor the 'if only it had one less string' type comments, but in this instance I'd be the one saying it! Such a shame it comes so close to me swearing I wouldn't touch another 6 string for a while. Have a BUMP for a gorgeous bass at what, to me at least, seems to be an absolute bargain price.
Scooby Posted June 11, 2011 Author Posted June 11, 2011 Two hour price drop then back up to original price.
Scooby Posted June 12, 2011 Author Posted June 12, 2011 Good Morning, rise and shine. Now might also consider trades.
Scooby Posted June 14, 2011 Author Posted June 14, 2011 The sun has got his hat on... But I'm stuck inside working - oh hum. Need to move this on so hit me with offers or trades.
Scooby Posted June 14, 2011 Author Posted June 14, 2011 Whoops, I was on page three and I'm not that type of bass! However, if you're interested do take a peek ;o))
Scooby Posted June 15, 2011 Author Posted June 15, 2011 Bargain price of £775 (which is what the bass owes me). It's well worth this kind of money - if I needed another 6 string I'd be keeping this one as it plays like a dream and has a great range of tones. Loads of tone for your buck!
Scooby Posted June 16, 2011 Author Posted June 16, 2011 I'm getting giddy going up and down and up again - anyway, last bump for now. I'm not dropping the price anymore, it is what it is and a lot of bass for not a lot of money.
Scooby Posted June 17, 2011 Author Posted June 17, 2011
Hello, very nice. How much does it weigh? Cheers Arpi
The bass is approximately 9lbs. That's comparing it to my other basses for which I know the precise weight (I haven't any scales to check for the exact weight).
Soliloquy Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 I think this used to belong to me. A very nice bass .
TorVic Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 That's two basses of yours that I like! A pity I let the Overwater 6 get away! Going for this one with Scooby
I think this used to belong to me. A very nice bass .
