Tank like construction - if you want something that isn't a Fender but sounds like one and has US equivalent build quality then you're sorted.

I really liked the 1024x and ended up buying a 424... Value wise the 424s can be picked up at amazing prices, but the 1024 is a better bass IMO.

Last I checked there was a black 1024X for sale at the Swedish bass forum - mint condition and still available at 4000 SEK (what's that, around 380 GBP?). I'll be happy to man-in-the-middle it if anyone's interested.
