urb
It's been a while since I used PC recording stuff but without wanting to sound totally ignorant I suggest you try getting hold of Cuebase - or a light version of Pro Tools if such a thing exists - sorry but I'm totally Mac based andf have been for some time - there must be some entry level recording software for PCs that doesn't break the bank right? GreeneKing
How about Audacity? It's free too. Peter

metalmaniac
For that kind of stuff you wanna buy a mac min off the bay, and get garageband. for about 300 quid you can have an absolutely mint environment for recording. Or Audacity is good, if you willing to try Linux try Ardour.

ironside1966
I use Cubase SX3, but I have also used most of the big names in my time. Sonar INHO as the better plug-ins {EQ, s, Compressors) and is good value for money. If you only want to record a few tracks of audio and tweak it most sequences will do More important is the choice of sound card this effects the quality of the recording. And has a low latency (the delay in the time it takes to hear the note when played) Try the M-Audio Audiophile 96/24 that comes with FREE eton Live Lite http://www.m-audio.com/index.php?do=produc...7f0690e4819e2ff Or E-MU 0404 http://www.emu.com/products/product.asp?ca...=softwareBundle Better sound card as FREE Cubase Le Sonar Le Ableton Lite Le or Lite stand for a cut down version or less features but the audio quality is just the same. There are USB alternatives. Also remember that unless your bass is active you will need a DI Box or equivalent Edited February 24, 2008 by ironside1966
Rumple
How about Audacity? It's free too. Peter
I use Audacity to, pretty good for a free bit of software and runs on a PC, Mac or Linux. worth a try before shelling out on something expensive like Cubase. R.
