Delberthot
So other than the tuners, shape of the scratchplate, pickup and bridge, isn't this just a rebadged Bronco albeit a hundred quid more expensive? Don't get me wrong I've wanted a Mustang for years but that's a huge difference in price for a few changes. I really hope I'm wrong and there's more to it than that http://www.soundslive.co.uk/common/showima...-0310902906.jpg http://www.soundslive.co.uk/common/showima...32-8402-506.jpg Edited June 14, 2011 by Delberthot
skater dan0
I'd say the quality is vastly better on the mustang than on the bronco. The mustang is in the vintage modified series which has a reputation for bang for buck.
son of frog
as opposed to the bronco being in the Affinity series... If its thru body stringing, and has some decent hardware i'd say its not badly priced, considering a lot of new, dare i say Higher end, Squiers are going for £300 and over. Jean-Luc Pickguard
I wonder whether this means the CIJ Fender mustang bass will be discontinued

Although what the internal market is going through given the Tsunami and following events I have no idea.
Andyjr1515
Don't know what the Mustang would be like but I'll admit I am a Squier fan. I have a Vintage Modified Jaguar (see Gear Porn) which, with a few tweaks, is fabulous. I would expect a Mustang to be just as good. The thing is, the companies who also make the top quality and top priced guitars simply cannot - and will not - risk their reputation by making rubbish entry-level guitars. As such, the low end Yamahas, Squiers, Ibanezs, etc, while built to a budget, are very very well made bits of kit. ~Bit of a set up tweak here and a hardware change there and you have a fantastic value for money result Andy
Telebass
Damn, what with the 70s P-bass with maple/blocks/binding, and now this, I've serious GAS for the first time in years... Rats.
CyberBass
Just tried one in Pmt Bristol and I have to say it was a lovely bass, nice fast neck and loved the tone, didn't feel cheap when playing, am sorely tempted to buy one.
