I like to think Stevie is universal..most people like him and his music. even if your not into soul/pop etc.... just wondered what your favorite Stevie tune is.. i have every album hes ever done including the secret life of plants...

there are so many i love, like AS, Do i Do (which is incredible) but i dig these not so well known classics..

To be honest, there are to many to list for me.
Like you i have just about everything he has done.
The Talking Book album gets a lot of play on my systems.
Really love this track from that.

The guy is just superb all round, and as they say 'It don't get any better than that'

His funk stuff is great of course! But for the more tuneful tunes, Superwoman, Bird of Beauty, Smile Please, Big Brother, Golden Lady are all beautiful. Special mention to A Seed's a Star and Send One Your Love since they're awesome tracks hidden on a relatively unpopular album.

BB, the first two tunes you listed are two of my favourites, I also love As and all the early Motown tunes. I love his ballads as well, Lately is just a brilliant piece of music!

Top thread! As I'm sitting here, trying to cherry pick Stevie tunes out of my vinyl / CD's, I've put on 'Songs In The Key Of Life' and got no futher! :)

(quite a moving video, someone has compiled)

I'm not sure if this is within the rules, but I'll post it anyway! Absolutely love this cover of As, done by the ever brilliant Gene Harris:

so much funk there should be a warning label.

Yep that was a great version - any idea who sang it ? being trying to find out for ages.

Edit - just looked on the Youtube site, Jerry Peters on vox, and Harvey Mason on drums. :)
And talking of Harvey Mason - by looking at his Facebook page, there seems to be a new album brewing with George Benson.

Change your forum setting then, it's on the first page for me :)
