haysy
Ok Had some interest to my feeler question, so it's up for sale at £460. No trades please. Butterscotch, slab body, CIJ in 2005-06, great condition. Comes with a rain cover type gigbag. Would prefer collection or could meet as I travel a lot for work around the Midlands, North and Scotland, so get in touch. I'm based in the North West. I've used it in a Blues/R&B outfit but now need something more versatile so bought a Warwick for that. Currently strung with Fender Stainless Steel Flatwounds 55-105 for a nice low end thump and a low action. Some small (2mm long) indentations on back of neck which I have tried to photograph but don't show up well but hardly noticeable. But think of early Rock and Roll 50's recordings as a guide to the sound. Lots of low end thump, top end is not really defined, at least with heavy flatwounds as I have it! danonthebass
Hello, I'm very interested in buying the instrument. Could pay you directly the amount of money you're asking. The only problem is I live in Italy: do you offer or consider the idea of international shipping? Maybe you could split the two pieces (neck and body) so to ship it easily and for a cheaper price (nice for me too) Thanks for the attention, Dan

If you want to organise a courier to pick it up and you pay for the insurance, I will pack it securely for you in a guitar cardboard box with plenty of bubblewrap. I could organise a courier but I would need at least your address to calculate how much the shipping cost would be. a heavy cardboard box would be fine if every single piece is packed singularly in bubble wrap. I made a box like that and really it's no difficulty(if anything i like packing things, don't know about you) waiting for your directions, Dan
danonthebass
now that i think about it, i would need the dimension of the package you're going to use and the average weight of the instrument so to calculate the shipping cost could pack as reference image i'm uploading (just a suggestion), so i would need dimension 'a' and 'b' and weight thanks for your help, Dan Edited June 13, 2011 by danonthebass

So box dimension would be 1320 x 500mm. Weight approx 7.5kg My UK post code is CH62 2BW. Paypal transfer is fine, I will let it go once payment clears. Don't know how to do it or something else? I'm just telling you because the shipment with the two separate pieces has less risk of damaging the whole instrument. A very long object is more due to flectional damage than a compact object. Moreover, as long as this looks to be a private agreement, which is not subdue to any bargain regulation, do you think you can give me any kind of warranty for the money i'm gonna send you? forgive me for being too careful but, you and i both know how the world goes. sincerely, Dan

I thought if we both have registered addresses with paypal, then we both have redress if things go wrong. My ebay handle is "haysy2010" and I've got feedback on there (100% 85 score), so at least you know that. Anyway can't we ask paypal to hold the money until you receive the bass and then they release? I thought you could do stuff like that. Not happy about taking the bass apart, I get your logic but once you start unscrewing etc, finishes get damaged and so on. A good courier like UPS shoul;d be safe enough, I imported a Gibson guitar from Florida in 08 and that was flawless. Let me know what you think Chris
I understand your reasonings, I must say you're a perfectionist seller! I have my address and card registered on paypal, i've also got an account on ebay with 100% positive feedback ( "nguccio" ). I'm gonna check on paypal about this option, but i guess the fact that you mentioned this thing supports you as a serious seller. About the shipping: I checked ups for times and costs. It gives me the opportunity to book a shipping from here, thus you should bring either the package to the nearest ups point in time of last recollection in the day which is at 16:00 pm, or tell me your address so they can recollect the package at your house. If you don't want to write it here i can give you my email address and send me all your credentials there: So you should tell me which day of the week you're free to complete the shipping. Meanwhile I'm gonna check about the hold on payment possibility with paypal, and tell you about it asap. Dan

On the first page there is a quick quote facility. You enter the country of collection and destination, package weight and dimensions in cm. They then give you several choices depending on how fast you want delivery and then you can specify insurance. Try it, it's easy and I do not have any type of account. Or we could just use the UPS option we discussed earlier... Let me know what you want to do. Otherwise it's heading for Ebay... Regards C
