Anyone got one or something similar from H&S?? Cheers Darryl xxxx Quote
wotnwhy Posted February 25, 2008 Posted February 25, 2008 no experience with them, but when i start getting paid. i'm gonna get that bass as a frettless for noodling. Quote
Metallicat V3.0 Posted February 28, 2008 Author Posted February 28, 2008 Arrived today. Pics as and when D xxx Quote
thedarxide Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 You got yours quick, I assume it was already built?!?! I ordered a 7 string at the beginning of the month, if it turns out okay then there's a double or triple neck with my name on it as well..... Quote
Metallicat V3.0 Posted February 28, 2008 Author Posted February 28, 2008 They told me to expect a wait of 10-12 days then the next day I got a despatch email... Was a bit odd but I'm not going to complain!! D Quote
thedarxide Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 So hows the build quality? The only concern i have with the seven is the fact that the bridge is a single line tunomatic, no intonation adjustment. I realise that a seven string bridge would add significant cost, and I can't have my cake and eat it.... that I don't think I've ever intonated a bass in my life anyway Quote
Metallicat V3.0 Posted February 28, 2008 Author Posted February 28, 2008 Not had chance to give it a good seeing to yet but for the price I paid you can't fault it at all! I'd recommend one if you're thinking of learning to play with 6 strings, if you don't like it then no major £££ lost. D x Quote
charic Posted March 1, 2008 Posted March 1, 2008 I was tempted but i think ill hold out till i can afford a natural trb1006 Quote
Metallicat V3.0 Posted March 4, 2008 Author Posted March 4, 2008 Sorry guys still no pics, but I must say my next "new purchase" has got to be a six string. I absolute love the freedom of the extra strings and it now means I can tootle along to Dream Theater!! Why another six string? Well for what I paid the build quality is ok, there is a slight crack in the varnish but it really is barely mentionable. The nut needed a bit of a sand down as it looked liked the strings were used to cut themselves in. The tone is also not quite there. As a starter six string bass I don't think you can go far wrong however. Next bass >> Will be when I graduate and I'm looking at a JM2 or possibly a random, depends whats around and whats less then a grand D Quote
charic Posted March 5, 2008 Posted March 5, 2008 Try the trb1006 (mr myung used one at one point i blieve, and i can play it as easy as my pbass!) Its also prettier Quote
Machines Posted March 5, 2008 Posted March 5, 2008 There's a TRB1006 for sale on here right now.. :brow: Quote
Metallicat V3.0 Posted March 6, 2008 Author Posted March 6, 2008 £65 indeed. I was most lucky but then thats how the 'bay goes. I must admit the TRB1006 does look gorgeous. I do have a lot of time however to consider my options (damn this 5 year course) I really do think I'll end up saving for a spalted maple single cut a la shuker.... We shall see. D Quote
thedarxide Posted March 6, 2008 Posted March 6, 2008 Well I've just ordered their doubleneck as well (they were on sale at the weekend - £188) My 7 string should be shipping end of next week. Quote
