martthebass
The 30th is in near perfect nick (a few light swirlies on the pickguard and tiniest of a dinglet on the tip of the headstock - microscope needed) and comes in the 30th Anni C&G case. Trade wise I'm a fussy bugger but would consider pretty good examples of US made P or J's (rosewood preferred) with cash my way, standard US made Stingray/Sterling with cash my way or 70's Fender or Custom shop P or J's (as a straight trade). Noisyjon
These are lovely basses and are you really sure Mart, Can't you get close to a P with some flats on it and some EQ?

stingrayPete1977
As of this week Im the only bread winner in the house so Im hoping no one swaps unless they fancy a purchase at a later date! I should of struck while the iron was hot last time Mart. In all seriousness though if its a CS P you want then good luck
martthebass
Further info: This is no ordinary MM, the body is mahogany (but fortunately isn't heavyweight, the bass comes in at about 9lb5oz) with a trans red finish. Through body stringing (no bridge loading option on this one). The neck is gloss finished in trans red and is highly figured birdseye maple. In essence you're getting a 'Classic' but with the more comfortable contoured body and 3eq...oh and the fact that 783 were made and no more will be appearing. Soundwise there is a difference to a standard Ray, a bit more low down punch and a bit less harsh at the top end but YMMV. It will take a 'special' Fender to prise this one away from Chez MTB. BB3000S
These are seriously nice Stingrays!! I have four SR's, all of them very sweet basses but the 30th anni is in a league all its own. Played a couple of other 30th's also and they all shared a vibe of "more Stingray" than a Stingray - if that makes sense. Good luck with the trade (though I really should say "Don't do it!!!"). martthebass
Will bump this for a little longer... Come to the conclusion that I can live with this really ugly Stingray that smells a bit because we have a 15yr old boarder collie living in the house (might be a few stray dog hairs in the case) if I have to (hard life aint it?). I could do more useful things with the money or with a P bass plus less money, however.....if I have to polish this bloody thing again i'm going to seal in in a vacuum bag, put it back in it's case, under the bed and forget I own it until 2023 at the earliest. thebassman
I would love to buy this bass, been after one for ages. Just can't seem to get the funds together at the moment. If you still have it, and are still selling it, in a couple of months I will definately buy it off you. I am even thinking about putting up my fender bassman 135 for sale, to help fund this. I have had it for about 20 years and never thought I would part with it.
martthebass
Thanks TB, looks like I will most likely still have it, if it's still available you never know.
martthebass
Well this was withdrawn but on consideration I really can't justify having such a quality instrument sat under the bed. So it's back up for sale or trade.
