Bass Stuff.. like T's and such

Recommended Posts

Hey Bassheads,

I'm playing with the idea to open an online shop with stuff like bass T'shirts, hoodies, tops, prints, mugs, other merch.. y'know. Im just wondering if there would be a market for it, as I don't want to be stuck with loads of stock.

What are you guys saying, would you be at all interested in stuff like that?

Lemme know!

Easy,
Pris

Hi Pris! :0)

Definitely a good idea. I was talking to Steve about getting a job lot made for the bash, but ideally an automated online ordering system would be really good. I will catch you on MSN soon about it, but there has definitely been lots of interest already. We thought black and white T shirts with the site banner around the chest (modified with an orange boarder on the black version) and some polo shirts, hoodies etc eventually. I will probably get a job lot made up locally to take with moi to the bash if I can afford it.

I would definiately be interested in bass merchandise. Probs quite like a mug and a t-shirt. Would get a hoody if it was good quality or looked cool.

Not sure about basschat merchandise though. I mean I would put a sticker up if someone gave me one, but not sure if I would pay to walk round the streets with www.basschat.co.uk accross my chest :)
Actually lol I know maybe this should go in the items wanted section but....what I really want and can't seem to find anywhere is a cool bass poster like 60x80cm sort of size. Like a jazzy style poster. Maybe you should get some of them made for around the £10-£15 mark biggrin.gif
My mate Sarah will custom make anything you like in the T shirt department .. Band shirts, witty slogan one offs, Hoodies etc etc etc
Have a look here:

What I'm suggesting is that anyone (like the OP) considering setting up a business selling bass related, or basschat T's etc, should talk to her as she already has the tricky stuff sorted - payments, production and tracking etc.

She will gladly work with you to design what you want and then you simply direct people to her system for the orders. I guess you work the money out between you.

That's got to be better than ordering 100 black Hartke Hoodies and then finding all 30 of the people interested have bought two and you are left with 30 in XXS and 5XL for ever..... (times that by every brand you can think of)

She's currently making me a custom Polo with my Shuker's on ..

I think if you tried to use Fender's logo (or any of the other big boys) you'd get into trouble pretty quick.... The Rickenbacker Police probably have a crack squad of copyright infringement warriors poised in every town, just waiting for you to try

I'd be well up for a hoody or t-shirt, Basschat preferably, but anything else bass-wise may be of interest.
This place does some good ones; http://www.groove-dna.com/
and so does this one; http://www.uglybassplayer.com/store/shirts...hirts-c-81.html
But both are U.S sites and therefore you have to pay for the extra shipping.
Good idea though matey!

phantom screen do an awesome deal "coffin deal" which gives you 50 tees uber cheap...and also pretty blue gun clothing is pretty good used both in the past for band merch...

also buttonlair.co.uk is uber good for stickers and badges...

 You're so helpful! Thank you very muchly!

I'll check the websites you mentioned. I'd like the stuff to be of good quality and the prints up to decent standard. I like dem bassplayers to look Good, even after a couple of washings.

I'm definately going to set it up, will keep you posted.

Thanks again!

I think the thing is have a branding that looks good!

If you have anything toooo bass orientated, it might come across as a bit geeky perhaps

I wouldn't wear anything that had a big bass clef or picture of a bass....having said that, i do have a Bassist Mug lol

I bought my brother (he plays bass too) a "BASS PLAYER" tshirt from here, for christmas. Which he wears proudly! and so he should!

Our bass addiction is not an affliction! It should be advertised with pride! :)

Bass Tees "let them know you're not a treble maker" nice tagline but just one shirt design by the look of it ..
