Know anything about Samick Artist basses?

I've just won a Samick Artist on ebay in a funky marble-type finish that I'm praying is original... found one or two reviews kicking around but nothing beyond basic details. Are they good/bad/indifferent? I've seen reviews state active and passive pups, did they come with both? Any info appreciated.... I got a case out of it if nothing else :)
